Short description:

The spring of 2015 marked the fifth anniversary of the Parklet Program in San Francisco. In celebration of this milestone, Pavement to Parks released a new Parklet Manual and Video Series. Watch the Parklet Community Video by clicking here!

The first parklets were installed throughout 2010. These five pilot projects were situated in four neighborhoods of San Francisco. Click on the links below for profiles on those first five precedents. Every year since 2010, more parklets have appeared around the City under the sponsorship of nonprofits, small businesses, neighborhood groups, and others. Each generation of paklets helps us understand how to better increase open space where our neighborhoods need it most.
